Rainbow Food Explorers – Exploring Bananas!

Join Carrie and Tracy as we discover and explore bananas. We will use all our senses (look, feel, smell, hear, taste) as we investigate the whole banana and then take it apart.  We will find out where bananas come from and how they grow.  We will share fun facts about this common fruit and weave science, math and language concepts into our conversation.  Through this exploration of bananas, families will have the opportunity to engage and involve their children in conversations about the food we eat.

Materials needed:

• Banana
• Cutting board
• Child-safe knife
• Plate
